Talk Nerdy to Me
One of the unforeseen side effects of this age of rapid-fire technological development is how ho-hum all these futuristic gadgets have become. The smartphone in your pocket is probably a lot more powerful than your desktop computer was a few years ago. You have instant access to several libraries' worth of (questionable) information on it. You can post a meaningless missive on Twitter from Canada and have it read within seconds by anyone in Kuala Lumpur. And if you need a break from the real world, you can live vicariously through your avatar in Second Life. It's all worth stepping back from and pondering for a few minutes. There's no better way to do so than to take a look at our slideshow of modern-day tech that was the stuff of science-fiction movies not too long ago.
