I'm not neat by nature. I'm not a slob, mind you, but I relish a certain degree of disorder in my environment. My wife, however, was probably a monk in a previous life. She likes clean, uncluttered surfaces. Philosophically, she believes you should get rid of anything that you haven't used in the last six months. So you can imagine the challenges we face sharing a home office. Not only is there the whole too-much-stuff-in-too-small-a-space issue, but there's also an innately messy tangle of cables to contend with. I've won plenty of brownie points from her for my liberal use of zip ties and for going wireless wherever possible. Still, the room is not the pristine paradise my ascetic mate would prefer. So I've been reading Tony Bradley's "Clean Your PC Cable Clutter" carefully for tips. If you live with a neatnik (or aspire to be one yourself), check out Tony's advice. It should help you untangle the mess in your own home office and could even save you money on marriage counseling.
