Talk Nerdy to Me
There's a Web-based solution or a mobile app for just about everything these days. You've got your Twitter, your Facebook, your Tumblr, your blog, your Foursquare... all of which are great for creating an always-on virtual presence and letting other virtual people keep track of you. But if you want an app that takes back your privacy, prevents you being tagged in unflattering photos, and generally lets you live your life in the real world, it's best to take matters into your own hands. Here are some great tips for removing yourself from the Web and clearing your online cache. And who knows? Maybe the lack of an online presence will give you a good excuse to meet up with friends and family more often in the real world.

PCWorld Reviewers' Favorite Files: March 2011Our reviewers were very practical in March, focusing on utilities. Somebody's doing spring cleaning on their PCs: Benchmarking, cleanup, and system info programs dominate the list. If real-life technology feels too safe, check out the Blade Runner and HAL9000 themes for Windows 7. Those should make you want a nice, docile computer that does what you tell it to do.
