Eight Great Laptops Under $800

The Best of PCWorld

Let's give credit for ingenuity: PCWorld's laptop guru Jason Cross somehow slipped a Groucho Marx quote into his slideshow "8 Great Laptops Under $800," which meant he had me (a big Marx Brothers fan) at slide one. But even if Groucho doesn't do it for you, I advise you to take a look at what Jason has pulled together: a collection of high-quality laptops that won't break the bank. I'm considering buying a new laptop right now (or maybe a tablet--decisions, decisions), and I find myself tempted by both the sleek 3.1-pound Samsung Series 3 and the Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG, mostly for its 8-hour battery life. Check out the slideshow, and you're likely to find other laptops that capture your fancy.
